YouthLine partners closely with schools to promote student mental wellness. We offer a variety of resources and services to schools for youth suicide prevention and positive mental health. Supporting our youth is a collective effort – we look forward to partnering with you!

Materials

Every youth should know about YouthLine when they or a friend are struggling. 

YouthLine materials are a resource that teachers, counselors, pediatricians, youth-serving organizations, and community members can order to let youth know about YouthLine. We offer wristbands, brochures, stickers, posters, postcards, and other items that schools, providers, and organizations can order for just a flat rate shipping fee.

School Suicide Prevention and Wellness Program

YouthLine supports school districts and schools with their suicide prevention initiatives.

The School Suicide Prevention and Wellness (SSPW) Program serves as a supporting partner to local school communities to harness connection and commitment to bring together suicide prevention champions and the community.

YouthLine is available to support districts with their Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention Plans required by the Oregon law Adi’s Act.

Mini-Grants and Support for Schools

YouthLine provides funding for tailored, localized suicide prevention initiatives at schools in Oregon through our Mini-grant Program.
 
Mini-grants up to $2000 are awarded to schools for gatekeeper training, student mental health curricula, school and community mental health events, physical wellness spaces for students, and other suicide prevention initiatives. Applications are accepted in the Fall for activities occurring throughout the school year.
 
YouthLine also provides other support to schools for suicide prevention and mental wellness efforts.

Suicide Prevention, Intervention, Postvention: Step by Step Guide

YouthLine supports school districts and schools with their suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention policies.

The Suicide Prevention, Intervention, Postvention: Step by Step Guide was created by the Willamette Education Service District and Lines for Life. This resource helps district and school leaders craft policies and procedures for preventing, intervening, and responding to youth suicide.

 
Military Services

Classroom Lessons

Mental health education is essential for youth.

YouthLine offers complimentary mental health lessons for middle and high school students that meet state and national health education standards and are co-facilitated with our volunteers when they are available. Lesson topics include: mental wellness, coping with stress, healthy relationships, bullying, and suicide prevention. Teachers and school counselors can request lessons for their students.

Suicide Rapid Response

Providing support to help heal Oregon’s communities.

Suicide Rapid Response helps Oregon’s communities heal from youth death by suicide, while limiting and containing risk of further harm by partnering with experts in the field to provide direct education, support, and resources.
